Science bodies issue digital research compasses

Guidelines intended to help institutions struggling with cultural change of online services

Two of the largest players in German science have issued separate recommendations and guidelines on how research must adapt to online life.

The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Germany’s largest public science funding body, and the Wissenschaftsrat, a council advising the government on science, published overlapping papers last week. The papers deal with the changes that digitisation brings to science and recommend steps for action.
