
German academics are still too lax about work with military implications, report finds
German scientists need to take more action to prevent security gaps in research that could affect national interests or has a military purpose, according to a report.
Written by a joint taskforce made up of experts from the German Research Foundation (DFG)—Germany’s largest public research funder—and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the report highlights the importance of research remaining compatible with Germany’s constitutional law and data-protection regulations.
