Kiel ends Newcastle Erasmus deal following Brexit

     

Dublin mooted as possible replacement after long-standing partnership ends this term

Kiel University of Applied Sciences (FH Kiel) is forced to end its student exchange programme with Northumbria University in Newcastle, UK, because of the fallout from Brexit, Research Professional News can reveal.

A dean at the university confirmed that the programme, which receives funding under the EU’s Erasmus+ programme for student and researcher exchange, will be cancelled as of 2021. The UK officially left the EU on 31 January and is now in a transition phase that will end in December this year.
