Lack of knowledge about Chinese customs and politics found to hamper growing innovation partnerships
A report by an expert panel has called on the German government to develop scientific competences around the exchange of knowledge and technologies with China.
The Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI) made the recommendations in its annual report, published on 19 February and forwarded to chancellor Angela Merkel. According to the EFI, productive scientific exchange with China needs people who are well acquainted with the Chinese language, the country’s culture and its politics.
