Hardware and creation of startups at centre of funding push
The German government is going to top up research funds for quantum computing with €300 million as part of an initiative to remain competitive in the field.
Research minister Anja Karliczek met with representatives from industry and academia in Berlin on 31 January to launch the funding. The goal of the effort is to ensure that German researchers play a leading role in the development of quantum computing, a field that is still in its infancy, she said.
