Corona shuts down bioscience research campus in Dresden

University laboratory and neighbouring Max Planck institute close doors to isolate staff

A laboratory in Dresden and the neighbouring Max Planck Institute have closed their doors after a student at the local university was diagnosed with coronavirus.

The student, who is doing a PhD at the Dresden Technical University’s Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB) has contracted SARS-CoV-2, probably during a business trip to France. The university confirmed that the student was recovering in domestic quarantine.
