More errors found in Baden-Württemberg professor bonuses

Initiative to boost competitiveness struggles to pay out fair rewards, review finds

Universities in Baden-Württemberg have granted more erroneous and unlawful performance bonuses to their professors than previously known, according to an examination of the flawed scheme.

According to the state’s science minister Theresia Bauer, sample examination of bonuses paid out so far has found errors in one third of evaluated cases. Bauer said that the examination was not yet complete.
