Acatech urges creation of test centres to ensure patient data used for AI is safe
Acatech, Germany’s National Academy of Science and Engineering, has called for the setting up of independent centres that would certify and regularly test artificial intelligence used in medical applications.
A white paper published this month by the academy examined existing procedures for data management and computing security when using AI in medicine. It found that Germany’s existing infrastructure is not enough to ensure that the technologies and algorithms used are safe and incorporate the necessary amount of data to function correctly.
