Germany biggest winner of ERC Advanced Grants

Max Planck and U15 group declare themselves happy with high success rate

Germany has taken the lead in the latest round of Advanced Grants paid out by the European Research Council, which award high amounts of money to leading researchers in their field.

In the ERC’s latest funding round, such grants were awarded to 185 scientists from 20 European countries, with winners receiving up to €2.5 million each. The total funding paid out under this round was €450 million, according to the ERC.
