Court fines Ludwigsburg professors for salary top-ups

Criminal proceedings against professors suspended, but former leaders still to face charges

Criminal proceedings against a dozen professors from the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Finance Ludwigsburg have been suspended, following a deal resulting in the payment of fines.

According to the Landgericht Stuttgart, a regional court in Baden-Württemberg, each defendant accepted fines of between €20,000 and €26,000 in a case centring on alleged assistance in the misappropriation of funds. A further professor refused to pay the fine, meaning they will have to face a criminal trial in September, the court said.
