PhD students get to pick university of choice for 25 per cent employment

Bavaria has launched a scholarship programme for doctoral students, which offers them a 25 per cent staff position at any university in the state, along with funding for their PhD.

Scholarship holders will be free to choose any university they wish to work at, with the staff position funded for four years. The funding for the initiative, called the Marianne Plehn Programme, is provided by the state of Bavaria and the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.
