
HRK offers tools to oppose crackdown on academic freedom and support Chinese colleagues
The German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) has published guidelines on academic collaborations with China with a view to helping scientists cope with the Chinese government’s crackdown on research freedom.
Launching the guidelines, HRK president Peter-André Alt said that the organisation had seen “restrictions on academic freedom on the Chinese side and an increase in legal requirements and organisational hurdles in cooperation”.
