More mid-degree students choose German institutions as preferred study abroad destination
The number of first-year international students coming to Germany has declined by about 1 per cent, according to a survey by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Paradoxically, however, the total number of international students has risen during the Covid-19 pandemic to an estimated 330,000, up from 319,000 last year, the data showed. Of these students, 78,000 were spending the first year of their degree in Germany.
