Academia seeks to be treated like companies and schools in plan to ease German lockdown
Universities should be part of pan-German plans to end the coronavirus lockdown through the use of rapid testing, according to the president of the German Rectors’ Conference, the HRK.
Peter-André Alt demanded the deployment of rapid Covid-19 tests at universities to enable in-person teaching and campus activities to resume. Alt’s statement was made in reaction to a plan for easing the lockdown, agreed by the federal government and the states, which introduces relaxations of social-distancing rules at schools but left out universities.
