German science year to focus on society

Exhibitions, debates and competitions with citizens dominate annual initiative to boost research visibility

Germany’s Year of Science, an annual initiative that aims to shine a spotlight on particular scientific disciplines, will focus on citizen participation in 2022, according to the country’s science ministry.

The goal is to create an “open dialogue” with researchers, from which both sides benefit, it added.
