In depth: The HRK, Germany’s association of rectors, has pledged to introduce new safeguards against abuses of power within the country’s university system. In a statement on 15 November, the HRK said it would work to eliminate many forms of misbehaviour, including bullying, discrimination, sexualised harassment and psychological or physical violence directed towards students, teaching staff, researchers or other employees.
