Germany’s universities must become greener and promote sustainable lifestyles, leaders say

The German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) has taken the lead on a project that seeks to transform universities’ role in developing a culture of sustainability in science and wider society.

The HRK will oversee the involvement of 10 higher education associations in Germany that are aiming to become more involved in the rollout of climate-friendly strategies and lifestyle changes—including an audit of existing initiatives.
