Germany joins international radio astronomy project

Germany’s research minister says Square Kilometre Array telescope will “overcome borders of knowledge and countries”

Germany is joining the continent-spanning Square Kilometre Array Observatory radio telescope project, which is currently under construction in South Africa and Australia.

Research minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger announced Germany’s participation, saying the Max Planck Society would be providing about €21 million for the project.
