The European Commission is to support 15 projects under the second round of its Fast Track to Innovation programme.
The Commission will award €32.7 million to the projects, which include plans to develop a mobile 3D-scanner for forensic data, and a project to build an exoskeleton to rehabilitate patients with spinal cord or brain injury.
The projects have been awarded up to €3m to cover activities including testing, piloting or validating business models. Earlier this month, the Commission announced 403 applications had been received for this funding round, giving a success rate of less than 4 per cent.
