The European Commission has launched a Policy Support Facility, which aims to assist countries in reforming their research and innovation policies.
Bulgaria and Hungary will be the first two countries to work with the facility, the European Commission said in a statement on 3 March. The purpose is to help countries increase their innovation capacity so that they can “kick-start renewed growth and job creation”, the Commission said.
A panel of advisors and officials from different national governments will conduct an assessment on the countries and make recommendations for improvements to public funding of research, including research careers and knowledge transfer between academia and business, the Commission said.
