Brexit could force major revamps in nearly 2,000 ongoing Horizon 2020 projects that are coordinated by UK institutions.
A Brexit factsheet published by the European University Association states that UK institutions coordinate 20 per cent of Horizon 2020 projects at present.
If the United Kingdom withdraws from the EU, nearly 1,800 projects might have to seek for new leadership halfway through their execution, if no plan is in place to deal with the fact that its coordinators will now lie outside the EU.
