The European Defence Agency and the European Union Satellite Centre have formalised a long-standing cooperation agreement by signing an official deal.
The agreement officially gives both partners access to space technology and each others’ training activities, it was announced on 18 July. The collaboration is meant to improve EU-wide decision making on security and monitoring, according to Jorge Domecq, the EDA’s chief executive.
The European Union Satellite Centre (Satcen), located in Madrid, is an EU agency that supports the Common Security and Defence Policy, which includes funding for defence-related research.
