ERC reaches out to Singapore

Agreement allows researchers from the city state to visit European Research Council teams

The European Research Council and the National Research Foundation Singapore signed an agreement on 6 October allowing researchers from the country to apply for funding to visit Europe and temporarily work with ERC-funded teams.

Jean-Eric Paquet, director-general of the European Commission’s R&D department, described the agreement as a “win-win” and noted that Singapore “hosts much scientific talent”. NRF head Low Teck Seng said he hoped that ERC-funded researchers would also visit Singapore.
