Commission procured data-mining tool from team using algorithms to automatically sort research papers
A “breakthrough” text and data-mining tool developed with EU support can be used to “detect emerging trends in the R&D landscape” that warrant policymakers and funders’ attention, according to the European Commission.
In an 18 November announcement, the Commission said its Future and Emerging Technology unit tasked the team behind an initiative called Opscidia to develop such a tool, and that the work was completed in October.
