Greek researcher defrauded ERC agency, EU authority says

Unnamed researcher siphoned off grant funds under guise of paying collaborators, fraud office probe finds

The European Anti-Fraud Office has sketched out the details of an investigation in which it found that a young Greek researcher had defrauded the European Research Council Executive Agency of about €190,000 from an ERC grant worth about €1.1 million.

The conclusions of the fraud office investigation, which was closed in November 2019 and outlined on 5 May, have now been passed to Greek authorities.
