Most recent European Research Council president resigned after just over three months in role

The Scientific Council of the European Research Council, an independent panel of researchers who help to shape the ERC’s strategy, should be involved in finding candidates for the flagship EU funder’s next president, according to one of its past presidents.

The Scientific Council was not involved in the search for candidates that led to the appointment of the ERC’s most recent fully fledged president, Mauro Ferrari, who resigned after just over three months in the role.
