Germany will host 88 grantees, ahead of 62 in the UK
More winning applicants to the latest round of European Research Council Starting Grants will do their research in Germany than in any other country, the ERC announced on 3 September.
The funder said the 436 recipients of the grants, which are designed to support outstanding principal investigators starting their own independent research team or programme, will be based in 25 European countries, with 88 (20 per cent) based in Germany.
