Italy and UK top latest round of ERC Proof of Concept grants

European Research Council awards €8.25m to 55 winners for commercialisation of their work

Italy and the UK came joint top of the hosting table for the third and final 2020 round of funding for European Research Council Proof of Concept grants, with both countries set to host eight researchers from among the 55 winners who will share €8.25 million.

Each winning researcher will be given €150,000 to work on the commercialisation of an idea generated in the course of a project carried out with previous ERC funding they won to carry out basic research.
