Guy Parmelin says “door is not closed” to his country joining EU’s huge R&D scheme
The president of Switzerland, Guy Parmelin, has said the country is still aiming for full participation in the EU’s R&D programme, after a walkout from EU talks that has left it covering project costs from national funds.
Switzerland left long-running treaty talks with the EU on 26 May, leaving a deal for its researchers to access the €95.5 billion Horizon Europe scheme in serious jeopardy.
