New Horizon Europe work plan will set out non-EU eligibility

Non-EU countries’ promises around sensitive technology projects are under consideration

The European Commission will soon publish a revised work programme for the first two years of the EU’s R&D programme, Horizon Europe, setting out which non-EU countries will be eligible to take part in technology calls, as well as those excluded to protect the bloc’s security and economic interests.

Under consideration are 21 funding calls on aspects of space and quantum technology, and promises made by non-EU countries that want to participate in them.
