Council green lights deal between UK government and European Commission

The Council of the EU has signed off the deal reached by the UK and European Commission for British researchers to regain access to the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.

The UK struck a deal with the Commission earlier this year to rejoin Horizon Europe, after two years without access following Brexit. The decision was welcomed by many in UK universities and research institutes, who will gain access to most of the research funding scheme from January 2024.
