Commission economist laments “miniscule” amount of cross-border collaboration, as EU falls further behind on spending

The EU does not make the most of its single market for research and innovation collaboration, according to a senior economist. 

Alexandr Hobza, chief economist in the European Commission’s R&I department, said researchers in the EU were much less likely to collaborate across regions than their US peers.
