Underspending in 2023 Horizon Europe and Euratom budgets set to boost military support funds

The European Commission has proposed redirecting €108 million that had been earmarked for EU research and innovation to instead provide military support for Ukraine.

In a document published on 13 April, the Commission said the funding could be moved from the 2023 payment budgets of the EU’s Horizon Europe R&I programme and the bloc’s Euratom nuclear research and training programme.
