EU R&D programme behind 10 per cent spending target on biodiversity, but hitting climate ambition
The EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme is falling behind its spending target for biodiversity-related research, according to the European Commission.
The goal is for 10 per cent of funds from the €95.5 billion 2021-27 programme to address biodiversity, but in 2021-22 only 8 per cent of spending was allocated to the area, the Commission said in a progress report published on 21 June.
