But universities want to know “where to put gates” if they have to be gatekeepers

EU proposals to increase support for research and innovation on strategically important technologies, along with measures to better protect research from foreign interference, have initially been broadly welcomed by the sector.

But this has come with warnings that universities will need significant support to make the plans a success.
