Springer Nature forms alliance with German research bodies

Agreement will make up to 13,000 German research papers available open access

Science publisher Springer Nature has signed a deal with an alliance of German academic institutions that is claimed to be the largest open access agreement to date. 

The publisher officially signed the agreement on 1 January with the Max Planck Society’s affiliate MPDL Services GmbH on behalf of more than 700 German academic and research organisations that form part of the Projekt DEAL initiative.
