EU platform advisers recommend steps to improve data sharing

Advisers on European Open Science Cloud call for awareness-raising and training

A group advising on the development of the European Open Science Cloud, an online EU platform for sharing and analysing data, has published recommendations on what those building the EOSC should do to ensure research data can be easily shared.

Funders must support “awareness-raising, training, education and community-specific support” for data sharing, as well as the “development, adoption and maintenance of community standards, tools and infrastructure”, the advisers said in a report published on 15 October. They said funders and other bodies supporting the EOSC should also “incentivise” the development of community governance.
