Historic moment hailed for nuclear fusion demonstration project
The international fusion energy demonstration project Iter has passed a construction milestone, with the first major piece of the machine—the base of an insulating cryostat—being manoeuvred into place.
The event marked the culmination of a 10-year effort to design, build and position the crucial component, the Iter organisation said on 28 May.
