Repositories will be compliant with Plan S, survey finds

Most platforms already use the required high-level metadata and persistent identifiers

Most repository platforms for hosting academic papers and data already meet the mandatory criteria for compliance with the Plan S open-access initiative—and the few that do not yet intend to do so soon—a survey has found.

Funders participating in Plan S will require publications they have supported to be published in compliant open-access journals or platforms from 2021.
