Major research facilities to explore computing solutions together

Nuclear research organisation Cern and Square Kilometre Array team up

Four major international research infrastructure organisations have joined forces to “overcome challenges related to the use of high-performance computing to support large, data-intensive science projects”.

The collaboration, announced on 22 July, was reached between the European organisation for nuclear research, Cern; the Square Kilometre Array organisation, which is managing the creation of the world’s largest radiotelescope; Géant, the pan-European network and services provider for research and education; and the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe.
