‘Growing interest’ in vacancies as navigation agency expands to become EU space agency, head says
Rodrigo da Costa, the head of the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency—which is responsible for running the EU’s Galileo and Egnos satellite navigation systems and is due to morph into the EU Space Programme Agency this year—has said he is confident the agency can recruit the staff it needs to fulfil its expanded mandate.
As well as its current responsibilities, the Prague-based agency will take on duties for the EU’s Copernicus Earth-observation satellite programme and its nascent government communications and space debris programmes. It will also take on responsibilities for finding synergies between the programmes and an increased role on their security.
