About 15 European funders interested in joining forces on platform, Commission official says
European research funders are considering launching a joint open-access academic publishing platform that would use the backers’ combined funding and communication powers to significantly bolster the publicly supported European publishing infrastructure.
A European Commission official, who spoke to Research Professional News on condition of anonymity, said the platform would build on the EU’s existing Open Research Europe platform, which can be used by grantees of the bloc’s current and previous R&D funding programmes, Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020.
