New project to strengthen EU-backed research infrastructures

Forum for EU infrastructure consortia aims to expand cooperation between them

The EU is funding a project to strengthen European Research Infrastructure Consortia—collaborative initiatives that have a special legal status from the bloc to facilitate research across borders.

There are currently 26 Erics, with more consortia expected to gain the status in future so that they can benefit from advantages including around tax. Each Eric involves on average 14 member countries, according to a recent report.
