‘Broader recognition of research outputs needed in humanities’

European academies want more support for researchers going beyond monographs in reporting their work

Humanities researchers and funders need to be more “broad-minded” about recognising new forms of research outputs, according to a group representing European learned academies.

In recent years, there has been an increase in novel, digital outputs from humanities research. But many working in the discipline remain wedded to older formats including monographs, articles and essays.
