Countries behind Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory pledge about €30 million to start construction next year
Construction of the world’s most powerful ground-based gamma-ray observatory is set to start next year, after the international consortium backing it pledged to commit about €30 million in 2024 for the move.
The two governing bodies of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory this month agreed to the “significant increase” in annual funding to allow “substantial infrastructure development” and a doubling of the workforce, the CTAO announced on 25 September.
