Commission fails to include SMEs in policy

The report, published on 25 November, analyses the Commission’s use of the SME test—developed to analyse economic, environmental and social effects of legislation on small and medium-sized businesses.

In a statement, Eurochambres said that, despite “repeated political acknowledgement of the socio-economic role of SMEs”, the SME test “is still not integral to the Commission’s policy making process”.
