Electronics projects get Commission funds

The European Commission announced five research projects aimed at boosting the competitiveness of electronics hardware manufacturers.

The projects consists of five so-called ‘Pilot lines’ linking 128 different partners that will receive up to €100 million in Commission and around €700m with contributions from Member States and industry.

Each of the five projects will bring electronics companies into contact with technology companies, chip designers, researchers, and universities at the very earliest stages of product development with the aim of creating competitive products.
