Medicines initiative to cooperate with US on Alzheimer’s

The Innovative Medicines Initiative has announced plans to collaborate with the United States to speed up Alzheimer’s research.

According to the IMI, a memorandum of understanding will be signed with the United States’ Global Alzheimer’s Platform, to create arrangements to collaborate in the recruitment of patients for clinical trial studies and to develop a standardised protocol to analyse potential drugs.

The plan will consist of three projects with a combined budget of €138 million, IMI said in a statement released on 19 March.
