Bulgaria has become the 10th cooperating state of the European Space Agency, after signing an agreement on 8 April.
The deal was signed by the Bulgarian minister of economy, Bojidar Lourkarski, and ESA’s director of industry, Eric Morel. The status of cooperating state is considered a bridge to full membership.
Last October, a group of ESA representatives visited Bulgarian institutions and identified several projects in which Bulgarian researchers could participate after signing the agreement. These included the development of space electronics, data exploitation and projects on space weather.
