The European Institute of Innovation and Technology should give its innovation clusters more autonomy to improve trust, the League of European Universities has said.
In response to the Commission’s public consultation on the EIT, Leru has called for a redressing of the balance of power between the institute and its innovation clusters, or Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).
The EIT funds and oversees a network of 800 academic and industry partners in Europe, including Siemens, Ericsson, Imperial College London and the Fraunhofer Institute. By bridging business, education and innovation, the EIT aims to draw out the market and social value of science and knowledge.
